Introduction 1: Over the past quarter century, the number of both experimental and analytical studies have increased dramatically on the monotonic axial behavior of FRP-confined concrete columns, and as a result, many uniaxial stress-strain models have been generally developed; however, most of these studies have focused largely on FRP-confined circular plain (unreinforced) concrete cylinders numerous authors tested (e.g., Mirmiran and Shahawy 1997;Mirmiran et al.1998; Xiao and Wu 2000; Lam and Teng 2002,2003;Berthet et al.2005;Almusallam 2007; Benzaid et al.2008;Eid and Paultre 2007,2008;Teng et al. 2009;Smith et al. 2010;Cui et al.2010). A better under standing of the latter and a sufficient summary of laboratory testing results can lead to the development of well-informed and calibrated cyclic uniaxial stress-strain model. In fact , Research is more limited on the cyclic axial stress-strain behavior of FRP-confined rectangular reinforced concrete columns of large scale, unlike several cited articles that previously explored the influence of the cyclic axial loading on the behavior of FRP- confined unreinforced concrete specimens including cylinders and noncircular specimens of small size many researchers tested (e.g., Shao et al. 2006; Lam et al. 2006; Lam and Teng 2009; Abbasnia and Ziaadiny 2010; Abbasnia et al.2012a,b; Abbasnia and Holakoo 2012; Ozbakkaloglu and Akin 2012;Abbasnia et al. 2013; Bai et al. 2013; Harajli et al. 2015). There were many great women that had conflicting personalities and adverse motives, but also they were alike. There were many great men that hold successful fortune, but here were also ones that failed. With these oppositions they helped Odysseus to get back home to Ithaca, whether they wanted to or not. These women from the novel that have opposing qualities, yet help Odysseus get home and finish off the suitors, are Penelope and Clytemnestra, Circe and Calypso, and Eurycleia and Melantho. This similarity of situation: Agamemnon = Odysseus;†¦show more content†¦Circe is rude and means harm to Odysseus and his men when they first arrive, but Calypso welcomes Odysseus with open arms. Though she has cruel intentions when they arrive, Circe didn’t force Odysseus to stay at all and he stays on his own will. Calypso, though, keeps him prisoner on her island and would not release him till the other gods force her to. The one thing they have in common was that they both fall in love with Odysseus and want him to stay with them. Even though Circe wants Odysseus to stay, she said, â€Å"I would not have you remain in my house unwillingly.†(122). Now after she says this, she tells Odysseus to seek the blind prophet Teiresias’ help in the Underworld. Without the prophet’s help it would have taken Odysseus a lot longer to reach his home, Ithaca. So Circe helps Odysseus get home faster, willingly. In Calypso’s case she does not want Odysse us to leave. â€Å"†¦If you knew the troubles you will have before you get to Ithaca, you would stay where you are and keep this house with me, and be immortal†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (66). Calypso tells Odysseus that if he stays with her, that she will make him immortal, but he refuses. She helps him build a raft and supplies him with food for his journey, making his journey easier. Less oxygen is being produced and cleaning the atmosphere allowing moreof these gases to do its work on the environment. Automobiles exhausts are just one of the contributors to this problem. The burning of fossil fuels is another major influence to the increase in globaltemperature as well. The destruction of the rainforests and all forests andtrees in general, is another. Every car produces enough gases from its exhaustinto the atmosphere that takes a mature tree to clean in about five years. Trees keep the air clean for the environment by taking the gases in and producesoxygen out of it. By cutting down the trees we are allowing for more of thecarbon to be exposed into the atmosphere. Another factor that most people would not consider in the raising ofglobal warming is the excrement of cows. Cows produces tons of carbon that doesnot all get treated for, and is in the top five for highest amounts of carbonproduced per year. This is another factor that somehow has to be dealt with.
